Grand Cayman airport
Unlike some of the other Caribbean islands, Grand came in as quiet and
advanced airport called the Owen Roberts International airport.
Surprisingly there are hundreds of flights each and every day that pass
through Grand Cayman airport. These flights go directly to cities all
over the world. It was opened in 1954 and has close to 10 airlines that
fly from there all the time.
Due to the relatively short flight, Grand Cayman is a very popular place
to visit by many people in America. That's why some of the major airlines
operate from Grand Cayman airport. These include Air Canada, Delta
airlines and British Airways. It also has its own airline called the
Cayman Airways which fly to several of the larger American states.
Grand Cayman is really becoming more popular every year. That's why
there are even plans in place to expand the airport to allow more people
to visit. This will easily allow for millions more people to visit this
relatively small island for their vacation. Although, for such a small
island it has some very advanced facilities. There is no shortage of cash
machines throughout the island and car rental is available directly from
the airport. Also in the airport you'll find a wide variety of
restaurants, bars and even a post office where you can send that vital
postcard or letter.
Travelling to your accommodation is also very easy from the airport. If
you haven't got your transfer already sorted out, you'll find no shortage
of taxis directly outside the airport who will take you to your resort.
All in all, you'll certainly find nothing lacking at Grand Cayman airport
when you arrive or take off the island. One thing to bear in mind is that
you may be charged an airport tax if it isn't already included in your
airfare.
